Making Nature our priority
Emilie & Charles, like their parents before them, put a lot of energy into developing Biodiversity, soil life and the good health of their vineyard. Aware of benefiting from an exceptional Terroir, their first mission is to preserve this environment and this great wealth of natural heritage. Since 2018, the Estate has been certified HVE (High Environmental Value) Level 3. In the vineyard, permanent observation and analysis work helps to support the evolution of the vine and offer it the optimum conditions so that it produces pretty berries without suffering. Charles grasses the vineyard with a mixture of selected seeds and no longer works the soil, so as to let "Mother Nature" regain her rights. The Family also installs "refuges" for wildlife such as nest boxes, clapas... always with the aim of developing biodiversity. Thanks to these actions, a new ecosystem is being established in which each species has its place, each pest has its predator. The Domaine's objective: to no longer intervene in its vines. Since August 2023, the Domaine has launched its conversion to Organic Agriculture.

VITI FORESTRY

Since 2021, Charles and Emilie have embarked on Viti forestry, a new way of protecting the vineyard from global warming.

According to them, watering is not the solution, in a period marked by droughts and episodes of late frosts, trees are the remedy.

In fact, thanks to their root system, they will interact with the vine, create shade in summer and bring with them new plant and animal species.

With this in mind, the hedges and forests around the vines are maintained to preserve the flora and wild fauna.

Bees at the Estate

After training in beekeeping, Emilie and her husband Thierry created the first Conquêtes apiary in 2022, made up of around ten colonies. Passionate about this pollinating insect, and aware of its usefulness, Emilie wants to preserve this species and hopes to eventually develop her apiary.
